VENTURI SCRUBBERS Static Inlet, Fixed Throat
Venturi Scrubber The high-pressure venturi scrubber is a well-known
method for removing aerosols and fine dusts from
industrial gas streams, particularly those with
elevated humidity levels. Tri-Mer's design is a continuous pressure, fixed throat
venturi which produces optimum acceleration of the
gas, and shearing of the droplets. The resultant, larger
"particle" is then removed from the gas stream and
impinged on a separator sited downstream. Separators
can be cyclonic-type, mist-eliminating type, or
impingement tray. A fourth option, packed bed
separation, is specified where additional
absorption is needed. A Tri-Mer venturi scrubber accommodates changes in
process or flow volume through fixed throats that are
fully and quickly interchangeable. The throats are the
means for precisely controlling pressure drop. A
venturi scrubber will scrub corrosive dusts, flammable
dusts, and high dust loadings at efficiencies of 95-98%.
Where higher efficiencies are mandated, or where
energy costs must be minimized, a cloud chamber
scrubber is recommended. Cloud Chamber scrubbers perform at 99.85% efficiency
for particulate 0.1 microns to 300 microns, and use only
a fraction of the energy required for traditional systems.
They also offer the unique advantage of scrubbing
common industrial gases, including HCl, HF, HNO3 ,
H2SO4 , SO2 , Cl2 and NH3, simultaneously with
particulate, with no additional equipment or towers. The Tri-Mer venturi scrubber is manufactured with
external or internal recirculation tanks. Materials of
construction include high-performance thermoplastics,
stainless steel, Inconel, and Hastelloy. Have a potential application?
