Tri-Mer Corporation designs and manufactures high-efficiency scrubber systems for gaseous contaminants, particulate and aerosol droplets from pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Multiple equipment types comprise the Tri-Mer portfolio, including Venturi Scrubbers, Cloud Chambers, and Ceramic Catalytic Systems. To achieve the most efficient removal of contaminants, Tri-Mer systems often incorporate more than one technology. This integrated approach has served industry – particularly pharma and the broader CPI – well in long-term performance, and adaptability to changing gas flows and production conditions.

The Tri-NOx Multi-Chem scrubber is a field-proven solution for the efficient, predictable removal of HAPs. Tri-NOx systems are particularly efficient for removing NOx from gas streams where other contaminants are co-mingled with NOx.

This scenario often disqualifies other types of NOx control, which use catalytic devices to remove the NOx; gas streams containing particulate and other organic and inorganic materials can readily poison the catalyst, disabling the system.

“Tri-NOx” is Tri-Mer Corporation’s NOx system tradename. Systems can be engineered to achieve virtually any concentration level at the stack, and accommodate any incoming NO/NO2 ratio. In contrast to SCR (selective catalytic reduction) devices, Tri-NOx is not vulnerable to catalyst plugging, and is compatible with ambient gas streams.

The standard Tri-NOx NOx Scrubber employs a proprietary oxidizing compound, plus dilute sulfuric acid in the first stage. Applications that involve moderate gas flows can also be engineered to use air oxidation of NO gas in the first stage to achieve a target NO/NO2 ratio for treatment in the second stage.

Pharma facilities and packers also use Tri-Mer technology to control flotation dusts from bagging, bottling and dry mixing operations. Tri-Mer Whirl/Wet systems control soluble and insoluble particulate 2.0 microns and larger at efficiencies of 98% and higher.

There are 3 equipment formats, of which the MCD is the most frequently specified. The Whirl/Wet MCD is low-noise, and has no internal moving parts to wear or replace. It accommodates heavy dust loadings and operates with zero shutdown.
